Turning off the phones. Locking the doors. My copy of the Disney Scarecrow of Romney Marsh has arrived. I'm ready to put my flour bag over my head and watch it! |

My first ever re-enactment event was fighting the smugglers one August bank holiday during the Days of Syn, which is (are?) put on by the good people of Dymchurch every two years. It was fun - firing a howitzer into the wind on Dymchurch Beach and getting a faceful of cr*p back every time I went to worm it out.
Happy days!
I've seen the site on the web and enjoyed seeing the pictures (this was a couple years ago), and it looked like a lot of fun. I envy you!
I watched the three episodes this afternoon. Unlike so many I loved when I was a kid--Swamp Fox comes to mind--it was still great as long as I put my head in neutral when i started looking close at the costuming :)
Nothing to do with The Scarecrow, other than I remember loving it as a kid, but do you get Illinois Times over there in Chanbana?
This week's issue has an article on the first Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, and it's founder, Osborn H. I. Oldroyd. (His parents love their home state of Ohio so much, they named their kid after it.)
It's not availble at the places I usually go. Is it a freebie thing, or should I head out to Pages for All Ages (which has a lot of uncommon mags) and look in the magazine section.
Thanks for the heads up.
Probably not available over there, then. It's a free weekly, and available _everywhere_ over here.
Drop me your snail mail in a private e-mail, and I'll ditch the irrelavent pages and stick it in an envelope for you. barondevin'at'comcast'dot'net | |
