The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

The good is the latest issue of Archaeology today. It's cover feature is on DNA testing of Plague victims, with notes on the theory that the descendants of Plague survivors might be immune to AIDS (a theory I first heard of in Norman Cantor's wonderful book on the Plague). There is also a full-page article on the Harrowdale Hoard with a nice picture that I hadn't seen before.

The bad is Hitman. Another movie based on a videogame that sucks. It had Timothy Olyphant so I went to see it on a free pass; I nearly asked for my money back. I fell asleep during it, and I haven't done that for years! I'm watching the first season of Deadwood now to get the taste of the movie out of my mind!

The ugly is the weather. At least it's above freezing, and at least someone else is taking Julie to see Golden Compass tonight. I don't have to take her out tonight to get a Sam Elliott fix!
